Genesis BBQ Group, the operator of a popular South Korean fried chicken brand, is expanding its market to South Asia by entering India, the world’s most populous country, following its success in East and Southeast Asia.
Genesis BBQ announced on Wednesday that it signed a master franchise agreement with India’s Baramati Agro Group to launch in the Indian market.
Established in 1988, Baramati Agro Group operates in various sectors, including poultry processing, sugar production, retail and agri-food exports. BBQ explained that the company has a stable supply of raw materials and a logistics system capable of distributing across India.
“India, with its large and youthful population, is experiencing significant growth in the dining sector. By expanding from East and Southeast Asia to South Asia, we aim to promote K-food across all of Asia,” said a BBQ representative.
BBQ entered in Sept. Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest market, through a master franchise agreement with a local company.
