Kumho Tire Co. announced on Monday its title sponsorship of the Touring Car Championship (TCR), a global touring car competition, with the organizer WSC Group on Feb. 23. Accordingly, this year's TCR tournament, which will be open in seven countries in four continents, will be held under the name of Kumho TCR World Tour.
According to Kumho Tire, officials from both parties attended the signing ceremony held in Lugano, Switzerland.
The Kumho TCR World Tour will begin in Portugal and continue in Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Uruguay, Argentina, Australia and Macau (China). Kumho Tire also provides the ECSTA S700 for dry roads and the ECSTA W701 for wet roads for racing cars.
"Kumho Tire is expanding its territory as a partner for the TCR World Tour based on its motorsports technology accumulated over the years," said Yoon Jang-hyeok, director of global marketing at Kumho Tire. "We will continue to strengthen our high-performance brand power in the future."
