Air Premia, Alaska Airlines sign interline agreement

South Korea's Air Premia Inc. announced on Thursday that it partnered with Alaska Airlines, the fifth-largest US carrier, through an interline agreement.

This agreement allows Air Premia to sell tickets for travel to the Americas.

An interline agreement is a collaboration between airlines that combine their routes and offer them as a single ticket, providing passengers with a more seamless travel experience.

With this new agreement, passengers flying Air Premia to New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco can now purchase a single ticket that includes over 110 domestic routes operated by Alaska Airlines within the US, as well as connections to five countries in Canada, Central America, and South America: Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Bahamas, and Belize.

The US aviation regulations require passengers transferring from international flights to domestic flights within the US to collect their luggage and go through customs.

Conversely, passengers transferring from a domestic US flight to an international flight only need to collect their luggage at their final destination.

Air Premia expanded its routes to Japan, China, and Southeast Asia in May through an interline agreement with Korean Air Lines Co.
