They are the first South Korean members of CAE.
NAEK’s President Kim serves as the Chairman of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT). Sang Yup Lee is the Vice President for Research at The Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST).
Established in 1994, CAE is the highest honorary and advisory academic institution in the Chinese fields of engineering sciences and technology. Membership with the CAE is the best academic title in engineering sciences and technology in China, representing the highest academic level and reputation in the engineering community.
CAE has a total of 111 foreign members, and this year, 16 were selected, including President Kim and Vice President Lee.
"With this election as a foreign member of the CAE, we will strive to create cooperative results through academic exchanges in the field of engineering and technology between South Korea and China,” an NAEK official said.
