South Korea’s Naver Corp. announced Thursday the monthly active user (MAU) of its community social networking platform Naver Band surpassed 5 million in the US.
According to Naver, the number of Naver Band’s MAU in the US doubled in two years since 2020. The company explained that this was due to a close analysis of local users and a focus on developing locally optimized features.
In the US, after-school activities such as sports, cheerleading, and dance are very common in local society. Naver Band started to gain popularity as a community SNS used by local students, parents, and teachers for after-school activities.
In 2014, two years after the launch of Band service, Naver established an overseas corporation in the US, marking Band’s entry into the global market.
Naver emphasized that it will develop customized features to increase the satisfaction of US customers and accelerate global market expansion.
