South Korea's Samsung SDS Co. announced on Thursday that it has entered into strategic partnerships with o9 Solutions, a leading supply chain platform company in the United States, and Emro, the top domestic supply chain management (SRM) solution company.
They plan to jointly develop supply chain management software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions targeting the global market by leveraging the strengths of each company.
Supply chain management solutions are considered a new growth area in the system integration industry, driven by factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the US-China conflicts, which have led to the restructuring of supply chains by many companies.
Samsung SDS entered the supply chain management solution market in March this year, following its acquisition of an equity stake in Emro. Through this partnership, they can also leverage o9 Solutions' global business network, resolving the weakness of domestic software companies in terms of global network presence.
"We have created a strategic partnership by combining the strengths of each company," CEO of Samsung SDS Hwang Sungwoo said. "We will actively target the global market with our new solutions."
"Recognizing the increasing importance of global supply chain management, we decided to collaborate with Korean companies," co-founder of o9 Solutions Chakri Gottemukkala said.
