The Peru Warship Project is a 640.6 billion won ($435 million) defense contract awarded to the South Korean leading shipbuilder.
The company held a launching ceremony for the Peru Warship Project at the Servicios Industriales de la Marina (SIMA), a state-owned shipyard in the South American country.
The battleships will be constructed at the SIMA Shipyard. The first vessel is scheduled to deliver delivery in 2026.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will provide the ship design, equipment supply, and process know-how while Shima Shipyard will build the vessel.
The company partnered with the University of Ulsan and started to host the two-week Naval Architecture Training Program for 12 engineers from SIMA Shipyard from Monday.
