Hyundai Motor Co. said on Tuesday that it released the model year of its high-performance electric vehicle (EV) the 2025 IONIQ 5 N.

The 2025 IONIQ 5 N incorporates customer feedback by adding new features and making some optional specifications standard to enhance convenience.

Hyundai has refined the N Drift Optimizer in the new IONIQ 5 N, which assists with drift driving.

The vehicle's signal monitoring logic for detecting drift conditions, such as changes in road surfaces, has been improved, dividing the control stages into 10 levels.

This allows drivers to select a drift assistance level that suits their skill.

For experienced drivers, Hyundai Motor has added a 10-level PRO mode that minimizes vehicle dynamic control (VDC) and adjusts linear driving torque.

The company also updated the virtual shifting system N e-Shift by adding a downshift memory and downhill assist feature.

The downshift memory stores the command if a shift operation is performed before deceleration reaches the allowable engine speed during track driving and shifts when the speed is appropriate.

The downhill assist, similar to engine braking in internal combustion vehicles, prevents the car from descending too quickly when downshifting on a slope. Additionally, Hyundai has introduced an eco mode for the N e-Shift system.

Other standard features in the new IONIQ 5 N include an intelligent front-lighting system (IFS) that adjusts the high beams to prevent glare for drivers, a walk-away lock that automatically locks the doors when the driver walks a certain distance from the vehicle with the smart key and a vibration warning steering wheel to enhance convenience.
