HiteJinro invests in table order service startup

HiteJinro Co., South Korea’s largest soju maker, announced on Monday that it invested in a stake in the table order service startup TMR Founders, which enables customers to order menus without interacting with staff.

TMR Founders operates a table order system called Taghere, based on smartphone near-field communication (NFC) functionality.

This service allows order menus by tapping their phones without additional devices.

Taghere has improved upon existing table order services by eliminating issues related to the costs, space, and battery charging associated with separately installed devices.

Launched in September last year, it is currently used by around 900,000 people.

HiteJinro decided to invest in TMR Founders, recognizing the company's technological capabilities and growth potential amidst the expanding table order service market.

TMR Founders aims to install Taghere in 7,000 stores by 2025.
