Kakao Corp. announced on Friday that it joined the global open-source community The AI Alliance to support AI research and development.
Established in December last year, The AI Alliance is an organization that fosters open innovation in the global AI field.
The organization has attracted over 100 members from various sectors including industry, startups, academia, research, and governments, including giant companies like IBM, Meta, and Intel. Kakao is the first domestic company to join.
Kakao emphasized its commitment to ensuring that domestic AI standards align with global standards, while actively advocating for South Korean standards to be reflected in the global standards under the leadership of the recently established Chief AI Officer (CAIO).
