"This year is the first year of SK Enmove's process of becoming an energy-efficiency company," said Park Sang-gyu, CEO of SK Enmove, a lubricant subsidiary of South Korea's SK Innovation Co..
In an interview on Thursday with SK Enmove's in-house news channel Skinno News, he said, "We will convey the direction of business model innovation to expand our financial story and gain sympathy and support from stakeholders."
In December last year, SK Lubricants was renamed SK Enmove to convey the meaning of "a company creating the power to move toward a cleaner and happier future."
"Aiming for the electric vehicle (EV) era, we are expanding cooperation with global EV companies and preparing to develop EV lubricants or e-fluids that raise battery efficiency and safety," Park said. "We are also expanding our scope to thermal management such as that of data centers."
Last year, SK Enmove acquired a stake in Green Revolution Cooling Inc., an American company specializing in systems for liquid immersion cooling for data centers.
"We will secure competitiveness by enhancing the brand value of lubricating oil based on the stable supply of high-quality products and optimization of operations," Park said. "It is important for all members to unite in this process in the pursuit of stakeholder happiness."
"Thanks to our members who voluntarily and enthusiastically fulfill their roles, SK Enmove's per capita productivity is at the world's highest level," he added. "In the process of becoming an energy-efficiency company, we need an attitude of sharing the entrepreneurial spirit, implementation ability, knowledge and experience."
"The paradigm shift symbolized by green demands an identity in the direction of saving Earth's resources," he said. "Becoming an 'energy-efficiency company' is not a good way to go but the required way to go, something that we will achieve through SK Enmove's potential."
