Lotte Tour Development Co. signed on Monday an agreement with Costa Cruise, an Italian cruise line, to charter cruise ships in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the tourism affiliate of the Lotte Group said on Wednesday.
Lotte will put the chartered vessels on routes linking Sokcho, a coastal city in Gangwon Province, South Korea, and major Japanese ports such as Aomori and Otaru in June this year to resume cruise operations in three years and eight months after the outbreak of COVID-19.
Costa Cruise is a wholly owned subsidiary of Carnival Group, the world's No. 1 cruise operator.
In Sept. 2010, it signed its first contract with Lotte Tour, and this is its 11th contract.
