Samsung Welstory completes new Vietnam logistics center

South Korean food and beverage company Samsung Welstory announced on Thursday that it completed a new logistics center with a cold chain system in Bac Ninh, northern Vietnam, the day before.

Samsung Welstory built the center on a site area of 37,000 square meters and a floor area of 26,700 square meters. Inside the center, it established a food research laboratory capable of residue pesticide and microbial testing, and a culinary academy.

Samsung Welstory aims to attract new clients located in the northern industrial complex and expand its local food distribution business.

The company entered Vietnam in 2014 and has since grown to become the top player in the institutional catering industry. Last year, it provided meals at over 90 locations, totaling 73 million meals and achieving sales of 140 billion won ($102 million). From 2014 to last year, its cumulative local sales amounted to 860 billion won ($629 million).
