South Korea's Daesang Corp. said on Monday it hosted the "Jongga Kimchi Blast" event in the US to promote kimchi and elevate Korean food culture.
The annual event, featuring cooking competitions and cultural activities, is held worldwide to raise awareness of kimchi.
In June, Daesang hosted similar events in France and the UK.
On October 24, a kimchi cooking competition took place at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York, drawing 381 participants, including professional chefs, teachers, and accountants, with eight finalists selected for the final round.
Food stylist Maia Bhaumik won the competition with a dish combining cornbread and kimchi.
Additionally, on October 26, Daesang held a kimchi-making cultural experience at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey.
