Kyochon Chicken opens first store in Vancouver

South Korea's fried chicken chain Kyochon F&B announced on Tuesday that it opened its first store in Vancouver, Canada.

Kyochon F&B opened Kyochon Chicken Canada’s first store on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver, an area known for its various tourist attractions, restaurants, and cafes.

"We aim to capture local customers' tastes with Kyochon's Original, Red Series, and Honey Series, and accelerate our expansion into the North American market," a company source said.

Kyochon F&B's US subsidiary Kyochon USA signed a master franchise agreement early last year with Mirae F&B Holdings, a subsidiary of Mirae Investment, which operates in the food service, retail, hospitality, and gas station industries in Canada.

Kyochon F&B currently operates 75 stores overseas in the US, China, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
