SK Ecoplant's Wayble Decarbon gets GIS certification

South Korea's SK Ecoplant Co. announced on Friday that its corporate carbon management platform Wayble Decarbon has obtained the country's first greenhouse gas inventory system (GIS) certification from the Korea Management Registrar.

A greenhouse gas inventory identifies and lists the greenhouse gases emitted through corporate activities.

By establishing a system to manage this, companies can develop emission reduction strategies or participate in the carbon market in line with international trends demanding carbon neutrality.

The GIS certification verifies the appropriateness of such carbon emission calculation schemes. It was established based on domestic and international laws, regulations, and standards set by international organizations such as ISO.

SK Ecoplant obtained the certification after passing evaluations on methods for calculating emission factors for carbon emission sources, grounds for emission calculation, and data suitability.

Wayble Decarbon provides services such as calculating corporate carbon emissions, monitoring carbon emissions status by business site, and supporting the establishment of carbon reduction targets through data analysis.

It also offers features for collecting and managing key ESG (environmental, social, governance) data, including safety, health, and ethical management.
