South Korea's Doosan Enerbility Co. said on Thursday it signed a contract with TerraPower to supply the equipments for small modular reactor (SMR).
TerraPower will assess the feasibility of manufacturing key SMR components of Doosan Enerbility.
TerraPower was founded in 2008 by Bill Gates, co-founder of the US tech giant Microsoft.
The nuclear reactor startup plans to begin commercial operations of the 345-megawatt SMR plant in 2030 in Wyoming, the US.
Under the deal, Doosan Enerbility will begin manufacturing the reactor containment vessel, reactor support structures and reactor core components for the project starting next year.
