Taihan Cable to build ultra-high voltage power grid in Germany

South Korea's Taihan Cable & Solution Co. won a 600 billion won ($463 million) turnkey project to build a 380 kV ultra-high voltage power transmission network in Germany, according to the company announcement on Tuesday.

The project is to construct underground cables to expand the transmission network needed for Germany's eco-friendly wind power generation.

The ordering company of this project is TenneT, a Dutch government-owned transmission system operator that runs power grids in Germany and the Netherlands.

Taihan Cable will supply all materials, including ultra-high voltage cables and connectors, and perform the entire project, including power network design, installation, connection, and testing.

The company also won two other ultra-high voltage power transmission projects worth a total of 700 billion won earlier this year.
