LG Electronics on Tuesday said it has unveiled its new mini-LED monitor for surgery at this year's Medica, the world's largest trade exhibition for medical devices, in Dusseldorf, Germany.
LG Electronics said at the four-day event that began Monday, its exhibition hall allows visitors to try a range of medical imaging devices optimized for related venues like operating, X-ray and reading rooms.
The company also unveiled its new surgical mini-monitor, its first medical screen to use mini-LED technology.
Based on a display's possible color gamut, the company said the item has a standard red, green and blue color space of 139%, the highest among its surgical monitors, with a display of a similar red color for blood and affected areas.
The monitor's optimization for a surgical environment has also seen an upgrade. In an operating room environment with strong lighting, the device sports a viewing angle panel of up to 2,000 nit brightness and 178 degrees and has waterproof and dustproof grades for front IP45 and rear IP32.
The monitor also has picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture functions and shows surgery information on up to four screens at once.
LG Electronics is also displaying a 31-inch diagnostic monitor with a 3:2 aspect ratio and digital X-ray detector that emits half the regular radiation level.
Silas Choi, vice president and head of B2B solutions at LG Business Solutions, said, "Through our lineup of medical imaging devices based on display technology and promotion of smart hospital solutions, we will offer a differentiated customer experience in health care."
