Hyundai opens climate change response edu Center in Vietnam

South Korea's Hyundai Engineering Co. said on Thursday that it has established a climate change response education center in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam.

The center was set up as part of Hyundai Engineering's 13th New Hope School project, a social contribution initiative in Vietnam.

Located within Hong Duc University in Thanh Hoa Province, the education center aims to provide various educational programs and activities to improve climate change awareness and response capabilities for local students, teachers, and residents.

For the 13th New Hope School project, Hyundai Engineering also dispatched a global volunteer team of its employees.

Before the opening ceremony of the education center on Tuesday, the volunteer team participated in activities such as painting, cleaning, mural drawing and promotional efforts.

On Wednesday, they planted 100 Gao Bang trees and conducted a litter-picking service along the trails in Ben En National Park.

Vietnamese employees who joined the company in April also took part in this volunteer initiative.

Hyundai Engineering has consistently carried out its New Hope School project, a social contribution initiative aimed at building educational infrastructure for local communities connected to its overseas projects.

Starting this year, the company has launched the 13th New Hope School project in Vietnam, with plans to support climate change response in Thanh Hoa Province in north-central Vietnam for about three years, in collaboration with Save The Children, until 2026.
