South Korea's leading pharmaceutical company Handok Inc. said Tuesday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Microsoft Korea to accelerate its digital transformation.
The company plans to use Microsoft's new technology to create an IT environment optimized for digital transformation.
Based on Microsoft 365, it intends to increase enterprise-wide collaboration and work productivity while at the same time applying flexible and enhanced integrated security management solutions.
In addition, it plans to convert its IT infrastructure into Microsoft Azure so that the entire data assets can be utilized in real time.
In particular, the company plans to build a big data platform with Azure to convert various internal and external information into data, and use it to improve the accuracy and efficiency of business tasks.
"Our company has early on been interested in digital transformation and has strengthened its corporate competitiveness by building a high-level system environment. In the future, we will work closely with Microsoft Korea to accelerate digital transformation and secure sustainable growth engines," said Kim Young-jin, Chairman of Handok.
Handok started computerizing its operations as early as 1984 by introducing the IBM system. In 1997, SAP was introduced for the first time among pharmaceutical companies to establish an enterprise-wide information infrastructure.
Recently, digital transformation has been carried out not only in sales, marketing, and production, but also in all directions, such as how work is done, in-company training and communication, and social contribution activities.
