CGBio, a South Korean bio-renewable medical company, announced on Monday that it opened a medical esthetic clinic, called Nulook, in Bali, Indonesia.
The clinic will offer comprehensive cosmetic surgery using bio-medical technology and specialize in complex procedures utilizing Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF), a type of stem cell therapy that can regenerate damaged tissues.
CGBio will develop a K-beauty complex procedure education protocol and regularly train medical staff belonging to Nulook. The clinic will also serve as a "medical staff education center" to train local medical staff in the field of cosmetic surgery.
Indonesia has the world's fourth-largest population but only 0.6 doctors per 1,000 people, significantly lower than neighboring countries.
As a result, many Indonesians seek medical treatment abroad, including cosmetic surgery. In 2019, 5,716 medical tourists visited Korea, with 30% of them undergoing cosmetic surgery.
As Indonesia's living standards improve and the middle class grows, the demand for cosmetic surgery is rapidly increasing due to urbanization.
"We will expand our business in Southeast Asia through Nulook. With Korea's advanced cosmetic plastic surgery technology, many people in Indonesia will lead young and healthy lives," said CGBio CEO Yu Hyun-seung.
