South Korea's Hana Securities announced on Tuesday that it launched a service allowing Hong Kong investors to open its accounts through Hong Kong's Emperor Securities and invest in South Korean stocks.
Through a business agreement with Emperor Securities, Hana Securities said that Hong Kong VIP investors can now open Hana Securities accounts at Emperor Securities branch offices without visiting South Korea.
Services required for investing in Korean stocks, such as remittance and foreign exchange, are also available at Emperor Securities.
Emperor Securities, established in 1990, is a leading securities firm in Hong Kong and a 100% subsidiary of Hong Kong financial holding company Emperor Capital Group Ltd.
Earlier this year, Hana Securities established a foreign investment solutions team to diversify services for foreign investors by improving trading, deposit, withdrawal and foreign exchange processes for non-resident foreigners.
