South Korea’s artificial intelligence (AI) startup Upstage on Monday said it will develop a shopping-specific AI service with domestic online commerce company ConnectWave.
The two companies on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding to launch the country's first private large language model (LLM) for business. LLM technology is the basis of generative AI such as ChatGPT, and use of a private LLM makes the risk of information leak low because AI learns only the company’s data.
Both companies will develop AI services by utilizing data on an estimated 1.4 billion domestic shopping products on ConnectWave’s e-commerce websites Danawa and Enuri. They will also apply the LLM to the shopping mall consulting and solution service MakeShop and overseas parcel forwarding company Malltail.
