South Korea's medical device startup company Vuno announced on Thursday that its fundus reading artificial intelligence (AI) solution Vuno Med-Fundus AI has acquired medical device certification from the Thai Food and Drug Administration (TFDA).
Earlier, the Korean medical AI startup obtained certification with Vuno Med-Chest X-ray, which analyzes the abnormality of five major findings to support doctors with the diagnosis of major lung diseases such as lung cancer, tuberculosis, and pneumonia based on a combination of findings, from TFDA.
Vuno Med-Fundus AI analyzes images of the fundus, and the back of the eyeball, and provides major findings for diagnosing major retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
It helps doctors intuitively check the presence of 12 abnormalities and locate them.
"Thailand is the largest medical device market in the ASEAN bloc, and we expect this occasion to provide a good opportunity for our overseas business," said Lee Ye-ha, CEO of Vuno.
