LG Electronics Inc. said on Wednesday it started selling its LG Smart Cottage, a compact, prefabricated modular home that utilizes its cutting-edge AI-based home appliance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology.
LG Electronics aims to attract consumers, businesses, and organizations seeking a secondary residence in suburban and rural areas.
LG kitchen, living, and air solutions installed in LG Smart Cottage include the WashTower Compact, QuadWash dishwasher, various built-in kitchen appliances, a water purifier, and the Therma V Monobloc air-to-water heat pump (AWHP).
All of the appliances inside this modular home connect with LG ThinQ. Via the ThinQ app, users can control each appliance, manage the entire HVAC system, and monitor energy storage and consumption in real-time.
LG ThinQ connects to the Smart Cottage’s security-enhancing Internet of Things (IoT) accessories, including cameras, motion sensors, and smart doorbells.
LG Smart Cottage's price starts from 180 million won ($134,000).
Built with over 70% pre-fabricated components, LG Electronics states the construction time is reduced by more than half compared to traditional methods.
