South Korea's cargo airline Air Incheon said on Friday that it received full membership from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) last Tuesday.

From 57 founding members in 1945, IATA now represents 330 airlines in over 120 countries. Carrying 80% of the world’s air traffic, IATA members include the world’s leading passenger and cargo airlines.

Air Incheon expects smoother interactions with international airlines by adopting IATA's operational and safety standards and enhanced customer trust.

The airline also anticipates improving global operational safety and efficiency by adhering to IATA's strict safety management standards and boosting efficiency through the introduction of various financial and operational standards.

Air Incheon plans to complete its acquisition of Asiana Airlines' cargo division and launch a unified corporate entity in July next year.
