LG Electronics Inc. said on Thursday that it will unveil LG ThinQ ON, the home appliance industry's first AI home hub equipped with generative artificial intelligence (AI), at IFA 2024, Europe's largest home appliance exhibition, to be held in Germany starting from September 6.

ThinQ ON, which serves as the brain of the AI home, is a core device that keeps home appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices connected 24 hours a day.

It continuously monitors the home environment, appliances, and devices, interacts with customers to assess situations, and optimally controls devices.

LG Electronics has integrated the extensive open ecosystem and IoT device connectivity of Athom, a smart home platform company acquired in July, into ThinQ ON.

Athom supports connecting over 50,000 types of home appliances and IoT devices.

ThinQ ON is equipped with LG's proprietary high-performance AI chip, DQ-X, which supports connecting various smart home devices, high-performance computing functions, and continuous upgrades.

It also features LG's in-house data security system, LG Shield. This system encrypts key data and stores it, protecting customer information from external intrusion.
