Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on Tuesday that it held online and offline marketing and buyer meetings in partnership with CJ Olive Young to help K-beauty SMEs enter the US market during KCON LA 2024.

KOSME and CJ Olive Young supported 19 emerging brands, assisting them in showcasing their products at the dedicated Olive Young booth at KCON LA and conducting promotional events for visitors over the three days starting from July 26.

Simultaneously, it organized a special exhibition on the Olive Young Global Mall, an online store for overseas consumers, that offers discount events and live commerce featuring influencers to expand global sales opportunities.

An export support meeting was held with two emerging brands and the US cosmetics distribution vendor. The meeting included discussions on challenges faced by the cosmetics industry related to entering the US online and offline distribution networks and sharing various opinions to devise support measures.

Attendees discussed responses to the US Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) of 2022, solutions for clinical trial challenges in the US, countermeasures against counterfeit products, and logistics and customs for exporting cosmetics to the US market.
