South Korea's SGC eTEC E&C Co. announced on Monday that it secured an additional chemical plant construction project in Malaysia worth 127.3 billion won ($92.1 million).

The company explained that this newly awarded project is an extension of a project they won at the end of last year, with the construction phase now added.

SGC E&C secured in Dec. last year a contract for the construction of an epichlorohydrin (ECH) production plant and a chlor-alkali (CA) production plant in Malaysia, worth 205 billion won ($148.4 million).

"While last year's contract covered design and procurement, the latest contract includes construction, meaning we are responsible for the entire EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) of the project," explained an SGC E&C official.
