South Korea's Lotte Infracell announced on Wednesday that it signed a long-term supply contract for anodic film raw materials with Constellium SE, a global aluminum manufacturing company from Germany, on June 17.

Under this contract, Constellium plans to provide aluminum rolled products, the raw material for the anodic film, to Lotte Infracell's Hungary plant by 2031.

Anodic film is an aluminum rolled product used in the current collector of secondary batteries, determining their capacity and voltage during repeated charging and discharging.

With the global demand for secondary batteries rapidly expanding, car manufacturers, battery companies, and material companies are prioritizing the establishment of stable supply chains.

Lotte Infracell is also continuously expanding its production scale at the Hungary plant to supply high-quality anodic film and build a stable supply chain for key anodic materials.

Lotte Infracell and Constellium have agreed to strengthen their cooperative relationship for joint research and development, quality improvement, and supply stabilization of anodic film by jointly investing 30 million euros ($32.6 million) in the Singen plant in southern Germany.

Constellium leads the production of aluminum rolled products across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and packaging. Last year, it achieved sales of $7.8 billion.
