South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank said on Monday it launched Indonesian language services on its mobile banking platform KB Starbanking to expand its reach to foreign customers.

The bank currently provides multilingual services in nine languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Khmer, Vietnamese, Thai, Russian, Mongolian, and Burmese.

The addition of Indonesian expands the platform's language options to ten.

The new service enables users to check account and transaction history, view exchange rates, apply for designated foreign exchange banks, and access the overseas remittance menu in Indonesian.

The services are available 24 hours everyday, eliminating the need to visit a physical branch. KB Kookmin Bank also operates eight dedicated foreign worker remittance centers, open on weekends.

Since June, the bank has allowed foreign customers without prior transactions to open deposit accounts, sign up for KB Star Banking, and issue KB Kookmin Bank certificates through the platform.

This expansion aims to enhance financial services for foreign customers through both face-to-face and digital channels.
