LG Display Co., the world’s leading manufacturer of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels, announced on Monday that it developed and introduced its generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

The company explained that the time previously required to review and solve problems, which could take several months, has been reduced to seconds through GenAI, allowing employees to dedicate more time to creating customer value.

LG Display's GenAI learns specialized knowledge tailored to the company to produce optimized results. When questions related to product quality are input into the AI system, it analyzes the accumulated specialization in the company to provide the best answers.

Employees can easily solve problems without consulting past documents when they need specialized knowledge

In particular, the large language model (LLM), the core of GenAI, has been built in-house to prevent any external.

LG Display collaborated with LG AI Research and LG CNS. LG AI Research's ultra-large AI model Exaone is the LLM for learning and analysis.

LG CNS's self-developed search engine KeyLook plays a role in finding answers from over 300,000 internal documents tailored to specific user questions.

LG Display plans to continuously enhance the GenAI by learning from employees' usage data and will introduce a more advanced version in the second half of this year.

The company intends to expand the search areas beyond quality to include patents, safety, equipment, and procurement.
