South Korea's Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company announced on Tuesday that signed a contract to sell 130 units of its large truck Maxen to Colombian construction company KMA Construcciones.

This is Tata Daewoo's largest order in Colombia in the past decade and the first mass production export contract for Maxen.

Maxen, Tata Daewoo's flagship model launched in 2022, includes the Maxen 8x4 25-ton dump truck in this order.

Tata Daewoo has been exporting vehicles to Colombia since 2007, achieving cumulative exports of 1,036 units by 2015. After 2015, however, the company faced difficulties due to the absence of local dealerships, stricter emission regulations and a recession in the Latin American market.

In 2022, Tata Daewoo re-entered the market with vehicles that reflect local consumer demands.

KMA Construcciones is a company that provides construction services in both the private and public sectors in Colombia.

It is involved in numerous large-scale development projects such as airports, bridges, tunnels, roads, dams and industrial complexes.
