South Korea's SP&Mobility, a robotics unit of Sampyo Group, unveiled its MPSystem on Monday, an automated robotic parking system designed to replace conventional mechanical garages.

A joint venture between Sampyo and the domestic robotic parking tech startup Semper M Corp., SP&Mobility said the MPSystem eliminates the need for human intervention, thereby enhancing safety.

Semper M has been marketing the system overseas since 2017, targeting markets such as Thailand and the UAE.

SP&Mobility's technology utilizes robots to directly lift and park vehicles.

The system employs transport devices that enable free movement within buildings, facilitating parallel parking and maximizing space utilization, unlike traditional mechanical parking systems.

With minimal structural modifications, one can secure more parking spaces within the same area, reduce the depth of underground parking, and decrease floor height, thereby cutting construction costs, an SP&Mobility representative said.
