South Korea's LG Innotek announced on Monday that it will accelerate its global expansion into the automotive lighting market to commemorate the 10th anniversary of commercializing its three-dimensional lighting Nexlide for vehicles.

Nexlide is LG Innotek's vehicle lighting component. It has multiple light source packages to a thin substrate.

Since the launch of Nexlide-A in 2014, followed by the recent mass production of Nexlide-M, nine models have been introduced to the market, installed in 88 vehicle models from nine domestic and international car brands.

Over the past ten years, Nexlide has shown an average annual sales growth of 47%.

LG Innotek explained that as it enters the era of future mobility, the value of vehicle lighting has increased beyond simple illumination devices.

In line with this trend, the company plans to complete the development of pixel lighting technology, which can create various patterns and animation effects, by next year.

Installing lighting on the vehicle grille, can facilitate communication between the driver and pedestrians or between vehicles, and display the driving status of autonomous vehicles in specific colors.

To expand its customer base through original equipment manufacturing (OEM) for mid-range electric vehicles, LG Innotek will also complete the development of the next-generation Nexlide with improved energy efficiency next year.
