LG Electronics Inc. announced on Friday that the sales of air conditioner models equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features in the Whisen lineup in the first quarter of 2024 increased by approximately 30% compared to last year.

The company is redefining AI as "Affectionate Intelligence," conveying the meaning that AI considers and empathizes with users to provide differentiated customer experiences.

LG Electronics unveiled new products this year, including Whisen Tower I, Tower II, and Whisen View, equipped with the "SmartCare" feature. Tower II accounts for over 70% of the total sales of AI air conditioners in the first quarter.

AI SmartCare is a feature that analyzes the space and provides optimal comfort without customers having to adjust the wind strength or direction separately.

It quickly lowers the indoor temperature to the desired level with rapid cooling, then maintains the temperature with wind that does not directly reach the customer.

Customers can also use the LG ThinQ app to take pictures of their living space and specify their location, allowing AI to analyze the images and adjust the wind direction accordingly.
