South Korea's ramyun(instant noodles) exports increased 39.4% year-over-year to $86 million in January, according to the Korea Customs Service.

This is the new highest monthly performance on record for January and the fifth-highest monthly value overall.

South Korea's largest monthly ramyun export was $91 million in November last year.

The Korea Customs Service explained that Korean-style ramyun is a representative product of K-content as a quick meal and has gained popularity across borders.

According to the Korea Customs Service, the ramyun export value reached $952 million, a 24.4% increase from the previous year.

The export volume also saw a record high of 244,000 tons, equivalent to about 2 billion packets.

Last year, South Korea’s ramyun was exported to 132 countries, the most ever.

The Korea Customs Service expects that the export value of Korean ramyun will reach $1 billion this year, renewing the highest record for the tenth year in a row.
