South Korean battery materials manufacturer EcoPro Co. announced on Monday that it partnered with the Debrecen Vocational Training Center in Debrecen, Hungary to seek talent.

Ecopro’s Hungary corporation is the first overseas production base.

Through the agreement, EcoPro aims to secure specialized local talent, especially in chemistry-related fields for the operation of the local corporation.

The company, targeting mass production in 2025, is building a cathode material plant with an annual capacity of 108,000 tons in Debrecen.

Earlier, EcoPro signed in the previous month an MOU with the University of Debrecen for collaborative talent exchange and mutual development cooperation.

A collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) was established in October last year to strengthen cooperation in enlisting local talent and career development in the secondary battery industry.

EcoPro plans to offer internships for students majoring in Korean language studies at the university to secure talent.

In February last year, a business agreement for global talent discovery and training in the secondary battery industry was made with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies' Department of Hungarian Studies.
