South Korea's system securities provider S-1 Corp. has forecasted a significant rise in the demand for AI-powered security solutions this year, primarily due to increasing concerns over bold daylight crimes.

The company released the 2024 security trend survey on Wednesday. It selected three solutions as the major trends in the South Korean security market this year: proactive incident and accident monitoring, widespread adoption of facial recognition technology, and the proliferation of cloud security solutions.

A survey conducted by S-1 among its clientele revealed a strong inclination towards the expansion of intelligent CCTV systems, with 70% of respondents favoring this approach as a means to prevent serious crimes.

Other measures, such as installing emergency bells (13%), increasing the number of personnel monitoring CCTV feeds (11%), and adding additional streetlights (5%), were also noted.
