Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Friday that its best-selling electric vehicle (EV) compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) Kona Electric received higher scores in all categories than Honda's new EV e:Ny1 in a vehicle comparison evaluation conducted by the reputable German automotive magazine Auto Bild.

Germany-based Auto Bild is well-known as one of the most reputable magazines in the world's automobile industry. It's a highly influential media for consumers in Germany and across Europe.

The evaluation compared the two eco-friendly SUVs in seven categories including body, convenience, powertrain, drive performance, connectivity, eco-friendliness, and economic efficiency.

Auto Bild gave the Kona Hybrid a total score of 583 points which was 53 points ahead of Honda's e:Ny1. It scored 15 points higher in the body category and 13 points higher in the convenience category.

Kona was named in July "Car of the Year" in the "New Car Awards 2023" announced by the British automotive magazine "Auto Express." It also received accolades such as "Small Company Car of the Year" and "Small SUV of the Year."
