Amorepacific's camellia-derived cosmetic ingredients get COSMOS

South Korean cosmetics giant Amorepacific Corp. said on Thursday its camellia-derived cosmetic ingredients got COSMetic Organic and natural Standard (COSMOS).
COSMOS is an international organic and natural cosmetic certification that evaluates products based on biodiversity, natural resources, production, and green chemistry.
Amorepacific developed three camellia-derived ingredients that have now received COSMOS approval: RE.D Flavonoid, AgeRefect, and Camelloxil.
RE.D Flavonoid was jointly developed by Amorepacific and The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and has been shown to have excellent skin aging control capabilities.
AgeRefect is a boosting material for tired skin that has shown significant pore reduction effects in human clinical trials.
Camelloxil has been approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for hair loss prevention and is used in Amorepacific's hair care products.

"We will continue to lead the clean beauty trend through continuous research so that customers around the world can continue to make meaningful consumption."
In June 2023, Amorepacific also received the Green Certification for its multi-purpose skin functional new material manufacturing technology through camellia oil cake upcycling.
This technology reduces carbon emissions in the manufacturing process and allows the company to reuse camellia oil cake, a byproduct of its camellia oil extraction process.
