South Korea’s LG Display Co. announced on Wednesday its third-generation OLED TV panels got a certification from global safety science research company UL Solutions for eye comfort.

According to LG Display, UL Solutions tested its third-generation OLED TV panel for blue light wavelengths that can cause eye fatigue and sleep disorders. The company’s OLED panel earned a score of 36%, the lowest level among all existing TV panels, and received a Platinum rating and the UL Mark for low blue light.

LG Display’s third-generation OLED TV panel also offers minimal reflections from nearby objects, earning it the Reflection-Free certification from Intertek, a Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide.

LG Display’s latest META Technology incorporates Micro Lens Array (MLA) to maximize light emission from the OLED panel and a brightness-enhancing algorithm META Booster, resulting in the industry’s highest peak brightness of 2,100 nits and a 22% enhancement in energy efficiency when compared to existing OLED TVs under the same brightness level.

"These latest certifications once again prove that LG Display’s third-generation OLED TV panels with META Technology not only offer outstanding image quality, but also prioritize eye comfort in providing customers with a user-friendly display,” said Jin Min-kyu, Head of Marketing Operations Division at LG Display.
