South Korea's low-cost carrier Eastar Jet on Sunday said it resumed international flights for the first time in three and a half years starting with a route linking Gimpo International Airport in Seoul and Taipei, Taiwan.

Codenamed ZE887, the route made its return on Saturday with 184 passengers for the first time since its suspension on Feb. 25, 2020, due to COVID-19.

Eastar Jet CEO Cho Joong-seok and other company executives visited the international boarding gate at the Gimpo airport to thank passengers waiting to board and gave gifts of SIM and transportation cards usable in Taiwan.
