South Korea's SK Chemicals announced on Tuesday that five of its recyclable materials, which are used for packaging in the cosmetic, food, and beverage industries, have received APR Critical Guidance Recognition (ACGR) from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) in the U.S.

The products recognized are Claro100, Claro100-CR50, ECOTRIA R102, ECOTRIA R200, and SKYPET CR BL. These products can be easily recycled into a type of plastic known as PET, the material commonly used for water bottles.

APR is a leading organization in the plastic recycling industry.

It operates a certification program aimed at increasing the recyclability of plastics and has been instrumental in advancing eco-friendly recyclable plastic policies in the US, such as influencing the passage of California's first law regulating disposable plastic use in June last year.

Major global beverage companies and cosmetic brands, including Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and L'Oréal, are participants in APR's initiatives.

With this new recognition, SK Chemicals expects to see an expansion in global sales of its recyclable materials.
