Samsung Electronics Co. has entered the expanding pet care market with the launch of its Pet Care Store on its official website, according to a statement released by the company on Thursday.
The Pet Care Store will provide a comprehensive range of specialized products for pet owners, including Samsung's custom-designed home appliances for pets. The online platform will also offer an array of pet feeds and supplies.
The South Korean electronics giant plans to merge its offerings with pet care services like pet monitoring, pet care content, and pet nutrition management, all accessible through the store. These services will be integrated into Samsung's home appliance control platform, SmartThings.
Among the featured smart appliances planned for release are the Bespoke Jetbot AI, equipped with built-in cameras for monitoring pet health, the Bespoke Grande AI, designed to handle pet-related stains and odours, and the Bespoke-free air conditioners, offering personalised comfort options for dogs.
Samsung's SmartThings is also set to sync with smart pet care devices from other brands. For example, the Aqara Pet Feeder can be controlled remotely via SmartThings, providing optimized food dispensing based on a pet's body weight.
In the coming months, Samsung aims to partner with pet food companies and solution providers, consulting with veterinarians to launch a program offering pet education and training services.
