Kolon Industries Inc., a Korean manufacturer of chemical and textile products, said on Wednesday that it was exhibiting its hydrogen fuel cell parts and materials at the World Smart Energy Week 2023, which kicked off in Tokyo that day for a three-day run.

The expo is the world’s largest energy industry-related event, with more than 1,200 companies from around the world showcasing their latest technologies and innovations.

Kolon Industries is displaying its water management devices, polymer electrolyte membranes (PEM) and membrane electrode assemblies (MEA), which are core components of hydrogen fuel cells for vehicles and other applications.

The company said it had been producing water management devices since 2006 and supplying them to Hyundai Motor Co., Korea’s largest carmaker. It has also been making polymer electrolyte membranes since 2020.

In addition, Kolon Industries is introducing its VENT product line, which consists of materials that have waterproof, dustproof and breathable properties. The company said VENT could be used for smartphones and mobility devices.
