3D content technology startup NdotLight Co. said Wednesday that it has raised 8 billion won ($6.3 million) in Series A funding.

IMM Investment, Naver D2 Startup Factory, CJ Investment, Capstone Partners, and Korea Development Bank were participants in the latest round of funding.

The South Korean company, which was established in 2020, has released Ndot CAD, a solution that allows users to easily create 3D content through its own 3D engine. It offers high compatibility with various platforms such as Zepeto, Asia’s largest metaverse platform.

The company explained it is popular among young people to the degree that 60% of its users are in their teens. The company also said that there are more than 300,000 contents to date created through Ndot CAD.

NdotLight was also recognized for its 3D modeling engine technology and won an Innovation Award in the software and mobile app category at CES 2023, the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition. During the first half of this year, it plans to release a web-based 3D design studio jointly developed with Naver Smart Editor.

"As the content environment is changing from 2D to 3D, the demand for utilizing 3D content will increase at a rapid pace," said Woo Sang-hoon, head of Naver's Smart Studio. "NdotLight not only has engine technology but also succeeded in commercialization, so we will work with the company more closely in the future."
