South Korea's artificial intelligence company Sapeon has completed a technology demonstration of its semiconductor SAPEON X220 on "Virtual Try-On," a fashion-specialized AI service.

Virtual Try-On is a technology that allows you to virtually put on a dress on a photo you already have to see if the fashion item looks good on you. Not only can you wear a single piece of clothing, but you can also mix and match it with other items that will suit you best.

Sapeon and NHN Cloud have collaborated since 2020 to introduce SAPEON X220 to NHN Cloud and verify technology and performance for future commercial launches.

NHN Cloud built the SAPEON AI infrastructure at the NHN data center at 5.22 petaflops in 2021, and this year the Sapeon AI infrastructure was further expanded with a performance of 9.22 petaflops. A petaflop is equivalent to a thousand trillion floating point operations per second, or FLOPS.

NHN Cloud said that it was verified SAPEON Semiconductor X220 was 5.1 times faster than Nvidia's T4 GPU in terms of processing speed in the Virtual Try-On service. With this, the company expects that it will be able to provide highly differentiated, high-quality services at a low cost.
