T'way Air Co. launched a new flight route linking Incheon with Sydney, Australia, embarking into the long-haul flight sector.

T'way said on Sunday it has begun operating regular flights four times a week, starting with flight TW501 to Sydney which departed Incheon International Airport on Dec. 23.

The new T'way flight departs Incheon at 10:20 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and arrives in Sydney at 10:45 am the next day. From Sydney, it departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 12:15 pm and arrives at Incheon at 9:05 pm.

In Feb. 2020, T'way Air became the first South Koean low-cost carrier to secure traffic rights for the Incheon-Sydney route. Since then, it has prepared for its inaugural long-distance flight by introducing the Airbus 330-300 aircraft and signing a unit load device (ULD) contract to improve cargo transport efficiency.

The A330-300 being used on the Incheon-Sydney route has 335 economy class seats with 32 inches (81 cm) of legroom, and 12 business-saver class seats with premium flatbed seats that can be extended up to 165 degrees.
